GoAL-WaterS

Governance, Accountability and Learning for Water Sustainability programme (GoAL-WaterS) focuses on balancing conflicting interests for freshwater and coastal resources by supporting the strengthening of water governance and management processes.

Shared Waters Partnerships

This is a global programme designed to improve cooperation over transboundary waters. The programme is active in regions where water can be a source of conflict – or where water can serve as a catalyst for peace and stability.

Source-to-Sea Platform

The Action Platform for Source-to-Sea Management (S2S Platform) is a multi-stakeholder initiative to exchange and generate knowledge, and support joint action for improved management of land, water, coastal and marine linkages.

Accountability for Sustainability Programme

This programme aims to make water and sanitation services more sustainable through improved governance. It is carried out with UNICEF and UNDP.

Governance, advocacy and leadership in water, sanitation and hygiene

During its ten years, the GoAL-WaSH programme – which in 2019 was succeeded by the GoAL-WaterS programme – was aimed at accelerating achievement of the water and sanitation Millennium Development Goals, and later the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Every Drop Matters

Every Drop Matters (EDM), a partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and The Coca-Cola Company, worked to improve water supplies and sanitation, and to promote responsible water resource management in a changing climate. This project was completed and closed its activities in April 2016.

Water Integrity Programme

The goal of the water integrity programme is to improve transparency, accountability and participation in water resource management and service delivery.

Towards Transcultural Transparency

This research partnership looked into the perspectives of communities, service providers, development cooperation actors and local authorities regarding how water and sanitation services could be organised more efficiently and sustainably in indigenous areas.

Knowledge Management Strategy on Democratic Economic Governance (DEG-KM)

The purpose of the knowledge management (KM) strategy implemented by the WGF was to document, analyze and disseminate innovations and lessons learnt from 11 national programmes working with democratic and economic governance in the water supply and sanitation sector.
