Ahmed Hosny

Hi! I’m Ahmed Hosny, I’m 17-year-old from Giza, Egypt, and I am currently senior at Obour STEM School. I’m passionate about environmental engineering, especially water-scarcity challenges, and I love turning classroom science into real-world solutions.

Tell us what the water concern in your country is!

Egypt relies on the Nile for about 90% of its freshwater, yet we are below the UN “absolute scarcity” line. Rapid population growth and 80% agricultural intensify the pressure. At the same time, untreated agricultural and industrial waste was thrown into the river. Together these problems affect drinking water supplies.
