Hello! My name is Keta, I\’m 18 years old and from Latvia!
Water and how available it is around the world doesn\’t directly impact me, but I\’m passionate about speaking up for those, who don\’t always get a voice. I hope to make a change someday. 🙂
Tell us what the water concern in your country is!As I live in Latvia, we don't come across many issues regarding our water. Most tap water here is safe for consumption. But that doesn't mean that issues don't exist, one of the main concerns that we come across is pollution from stuff like fertilizers and chemicals in our water.
This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:One of the solutions would be to start educating people on this issue. The more people know about it, the more change can be introduced and implemented to better the possibility of a safe sustainable future.

The Effectiveness of Various Natural Materials in Freshwater Filtration
In this scientific research work, the hypothesis was tested, whether it is possibleto obtain drinking water for human consumption by filtering the freshwater throughnatural materials. As part of the research, experiments were carried out in which thewater sample was filtered through sand, charcoal, and moss. After filtration, the waterwas boiled at 100 °C for 10 minutes. After boiling, the water samples were tested in theScientific Institute of Food Safety, Animal Health and Environment BIOR (Latvia, Riga). Bycomparing the obtained test results, it was concluded that these filter materials, combined with boiling, have great potential to filter drinking water for short-term use.
